Amendment No. 2 Issued to the Notice of Race for Charleston Race Week at Patriot’s Point
Charleston / Mt. Pleasant, SC (January 13, 2026) —Charleston Race Week at Patriot’s Point has issued Amendment No. 2 to the Notice of Race, which applies specifically to competitors entering the J/105 class. This amendment formally designates the J/105 class regatta as a Level 1A event under J/105 Class Association guidelines.
The Level 1A designation confirms that the J/105 fleet at Charleston Race Week at Patriot’s Point will be governed by the class’s standard, default crew-eligibility rules, with no new or heightened restrictions introduced. Instead, the amendment provides clarity that existing J/105 class rules and applicable World Sailing Sailor Classification requirements apply unless otherwise noted.
This update is intended to promote consistency as teams finalize crew arrangements and prepare for the event. J/105 teams that already meet class standards do not need to take any additional action.
