Charleston/Mt. Pleasant, SC (2026 April 9) - As Charleston Race Week at Patriot’s Point celebrates its 30th anniversary, the regatta welcomes back a distinctive and experience-driven partner: Voyagers Club LLC.

Built around the concept of Expeditions of Purpose, Voyagers Club curates immersive voyages that blend scientific research, exploration, and personal discovery. At the center of that mission is the historic RV Robert Gray, a 1936 vessel that brings both heritage and character to the modern sailing landscape.

For the second consecutive year, the RV Robert Gray will take on an essential role on the racecourse as the Circle 5 signal boat, directly supporting race management operations for Charleston Race Week at Patriots Point. It’s a fitting intersection of past and present—where a storied vessel becomes part of one of the country’s most celebrated regattas.

But before the racing begins, Voyagers Club is inviting sailors, locals, and visitors alike to step aboard and experience the vessel firsthand.

A HARBOR KICK OFF LIKE NO OTHER
To mark the start of Race Week, Voyagers Club, in partnership with Kennedy Gray, will host a pre-race kickoff party aboard the RV Robert Gray on:

Wednesday, April 15
6:00–9:00 PM
Charleston Maritime Center
10 Wharfside Street, Charleston, SC

Open to the public and most especially to Charleston Race Week at Patriots Point participants, the evening is designed to capture the spirit of Charleston—effortlessly blending maritime culture, community, and style. Guests can expect a vinyl DJ set, light bites, a relaxed community cooler, and the rare opportunity to explore a truly unique vessel dockside.

Kennedy Gray, recently recognized with a 2025 Made in the South Award from Garden & Gun Magazine, brings an added layer of coastal-inspired design and craftsmanship to the experience—making this more than just a party, but a curated moment. While not an official Charleston Race Week at Patriot’s Point event, the gathering presents a strong kickoff opportunity for those arriving early. With only a portion of the fleet committed to the ORC Sportboat North American Championship Skippers Meeting that evening, many competitors, and even those finishing afterward, can still take advantage of the experience.

A MEANINGFUL PRESENCE ON THE WATER
Voyagers Club’s involvement extends well beyond the dock. Their continued support as a signal boat provider underscores a deeper commitment to the sailing community, contributing both operational value and a distinctive on-the-water presence.

The RV Robert Gray is more than just a platform, it’s a conversation piece, a nod to maritime history, and a floating extension of Voyagers Club’s philosophy of purposeful exploration.

As Charleston Harbor fills with sails, Voyagers Club once again adds a layer of depth, character, and experience to Race Week—both on and off the water.
