Sailing Instructions Now Available

Charleston Race Week at Patriots Point

Charleston/Mt. Pleasant, SC (2026 April 11) -One of the final and most important pieces of the regatta puzzle is now in place—the Sailing Instructions for Charleston Race Week at Patriots Point have been officially released and are ready for download.

Download the Sailing Instructions (SIs) + SI Amendment No. 1

Once racing begins, the SIs take precedence in governing the competition on the water. They provide the definitive framework for how racing will be conducted, covering everything from race formats and course configurations to procedures, signals, and event-specific rules. In short, they are the authoritative guide to how each race circle will operate throughout the event.

Competitors across Circles 1, 2, and 3, as well as those racing on the Pursuit Course, Offshore Course, and especially within the ORC Sportboat fleet, are strongly encouraged to take the time to review the document thoroughly.

Understanding the Sailing Instructions is critical to a successful and competitive regatta.

For any questions or clarifications, competitors are encouraged to attend the PRO Meet & Greet, taking place immediately following the skippers meeting on Thursday evening on the fantail of the USS Yorktown, a valuable opportunity to connect directly with race officers ahead of the first warning signal.
